Fushimi old wine cellar streets
Fushimi has various kinds of sake makers.
Next to these cellars are always cozy sake diners where you can enjoy sake
and dishes.
The Chinese character representing Fushimi used to be 伏水 not 伏見.
水 is water. Fushimi has been rich in water to make delicious sake.

This is the brunch of the Uji River. Along this river stand many old sake
cellars.
You can enjoy a boat riding called 十石舟 on this river. There used to be
the Fushimi Port around here, leading to Osaka. Fushimi used to be an important
place for traffic. |

What clear water it is!
We call it 御香水 because it springs up from the underground in 御香宮shrine.
This water can be drunk for free so peole running coffee shops or restaurants
come to take it. Sometimes there is a long line of peole waiting for his
turn. |
